Meet our Community Representatives
Community Representatives are individuals that care about children and families in the community and would like to support them. The Bushwick Community Partnership provides the trainings and resources for them to best support and advise families during Family Team Conferences with ACS and other community partners.
William Pratt
"I enjoy helping people, and everyone can use help sometime in their life. Each one, teach one."
Andrea St. Louis
"Since I have already been through the process and I know the anxiety that the whole situation brings about, I feel like I can be there for people going through the same thing, and let them know that ACS is there to help, and they will get through this."
Sylvia Haynie
"I feel like I can give back to the young kids in the community. Because I raise my own grandchildren, I understand what it's like to take care of kids whose parents are not able to take care of them."
Beatriz Grinspun
"I am grateful for having the opportunity to be working in my community helping and empowering parents. It is a rewarding experience."
Maria Guaman
"A mi me gusta este trabajo porque aprendo sobre diferentes situaciones y me gusta trabajar con las familias de la comunidad para poder ayudarlas."
Laferne Cato
"Hi, I am a mother of three children all grown up with their own families and seven grandchildren. I have a great love for families and children and I am confident that I can make a difference in their lives."
James Stewart
"I really enjoy working with the Bushwick CPP, being able to be part of the conferences and supporting the families and the community is important to me."
Elsa Ruiz
"I do this because I like helping people because someone helped me when I really needed it.
I want families to know there are a lot of resources out there, they just have to ask."
Sherril Williams
"As a community rep, I attend conferences to help support and to enlighten parents and guardians about resources that are avilable right in their neighborhood. My role is to be able to share some hope, to show light at the end of the tunnel for those that may feel like nobody cares. My earnest concern for others helps me empathize with their siutation."
